I know it’s horribly late into January, but who cares! You’re never to late to enjoy some delectable K-pop goodness! November was quite a packed month for comebacks, even some more that I didn’t include in here for different reasons. I was able to squeeze December into the post since not much happened. Well, enjoy the jointed November and December edition of The K-pop Round Up!
Another one!? It can’t be. But it is! Welcome to the K-pop edition of Under A Spell 2013 Year-End Awards where I celebrate all the good K-pop had to offer this year! Shall we!? You’re caught under the spell now. Sorry!
Big Bang and its components are an insanely talented bunch. The leader of ’em is rightfully titled; he is G-Dragon. G-Dragon has produced some serious masterpieces during his career. Whether it be with Big Bang or his solo work, he really doesn’t take a break from creativity. He’s not only a songwriter, producer, or a rapper, he’s an entertainer. G-Dragon is a jack-of-all-trades and I have absolutely no problem with saying he’s one of the best things to ever happen to K-pop. His second full length solo album comes over three years after his first, the recent releasing on September 13th, 2013. Entitled COUP D’ETAT–meaning “Revolution” in French–G-Dragon is ready to blow our minds yet again. My favorite songs are italicized.
Unfortunately, my end-of-the-year posts have to bleed into 2013(something I really didn’t want to do). But, due to my extremely busy winter break, it just happened this way. Thank you, Rican family. Anyway, this is a new piece of my end-of-the-year collection. It takes a very special song to break into my Top 25, so this is why I’ve decided to make it a yearly thing. Don’t expect grave detail about each song(25 is a lot. guys), but I thought it would be cool to compare to your own and see how different our tastes might be! Without further ado, my Top 25 Most Played Songs of 2012!
Back so soon? Yesterday, I brought to you my favorite J-pop songs of 2012. Today, I’ll be bringing you the K-pop counterpart. Last year, my list was definite and I had no doubts doing it. However, this year I gathered a total of 30 songs altogether that I enjoyed! I was sure I was going to explode making this list. But here it is, my Top 10 Favorite K-pop Songs of 2012.
The world of K-pop is almost home to controversy; there is never a day that passes when people aren’t debating something. Whether it comes from the mouth of the horse, the story-jumbling media, or war-fighting netizens, there is always something happening that leaves a bad taste in your mouth. What’s worse is when people actually logically speak about these situations. Rabid fans declare flame wars and attack those who speak neutrally. Crazy, much?
Welcome back to another edition of Top! Series! Last week, I explained my favorite female K-pop groups and artists. This week, I bring you the male counterpart! This edition might not be as lengthy, but it’s definitely worth your time~ Here you have, my Favorite Male K-pop Groups/Artists!
Welcome to the June edition of The K-pop Round Up! June was filled with so many good(and maybe bad) releases by quite a few well-known groups. Let’s start, shall we?
Hello, my k-netizens! My blog, for the longest, has been J-pop orientated–even more-so Hello! Project. H!P was the thing that got me into J-pop and I feel as though H!P news is the easiest to find the past few years–what lacks is some good opinions, which is why I created this blog. Even though there are big J-pop orientated websites that cover popular artists like Hamasaki, NEWS, etc. etc., I feel like they focus on a much broader stage rather than the artists’ music–which is crap I don’t really give a shit about half the time. On a different note, I’ve been much more involved in different Korean artists and am always broadening my listening range
(sometimes). Plus, I’ve always wanted to expand my demographic of readers to K-pop lovers, being a K-pop lover myself. So, enough of this rambling and let me get down to business.
Instead of going crazy keeping up with billions of debut groups in one week, I’m going to wrap up everything that happened in the past month in one post. Yeah, yeah, I know it’s already the first few days of March but IDGAF! Now, I most likely won’t be going track-by-track through all the albums/mini-albums, but I’ll definitely be commenting on the promotional videos. I might not fit in every single new release of the month because it might not appeal to me very much, but I will try my best to fit as much as I can! Come aboard with me on this bumpy, long, time-consuming ride called The K-pop Round Up! :D
