Freshly Squeezed

Tsunku has been a busy, busy man. Gettin’ those videos up, namin’ names. Y’know, the usual. So let’s see what Tsunku has cooked up–or I should say squeezed–for us in this past week.

Juice=Juice is the recently announced name of the new Kenshuusei unit debuting soon within Hello! Project. At first, I’m sure we all either thought, “Oh, Lord, what is this name?” or “Teehee. Juice…” But after putting a little more thought into it, it’s not bad! Tsunku said he decided to give this name because he believed in the foreign version of “Juice,” meaning, 100% natural. I don’t see any harm in that, of course, but shit, it’s only natural if you make it yourself nowadays. Anyway, Tsunku wanted a vibrant, full-of-personality group that will aim opposite of the “childlike cute.” It’s a little contradictory to me because the name refers to being natural and fresh; I’m not sure what other style he could be shooting for.

Besides the name, fans have been predicting what colors will go to which girl. Were you right?

Aina Otsuka

“A finalist of Morning Musume. 9th audition. She has a good voice which resound enough through microphone.”

Akari Uemura“She participated until the third screening of Morning Musume. 9th audition, however, her dance and vocal skill are poor now. But, her charm is it. She has also the strong personality, I can put my hope in her future.”

Karin Miyamoto

“She is a person of ability that she has participated in several units born from Hello!Project in the past. She has also strong character.”

Sayuki Takagi

“Rock style vocal and powerful dance skill, she is just exactly the trainee of Hello!Project. She is already highly skilled.”

Tomoko Kanazawa

“She just recently became a trainee. She is an early promoted rookie.”

Yuka Miyazaki

“She isn’t a Hello!Project trainee now, but she was the finalist of Morning Musume. 10th audition and S/mileage new member audition. She is currently participating in a unit called GREEN FIELDS in SATOYAMA movement, I recognized achievements in there, and decided her participation.”

Well, dang. Tsunku really said it like it is when it came to Akari. I’m the most excited to see Tomoko. Not only is she absolutely gorgeous but she’s new to Hello! Project. Plus, she’s older than me! There’s something about her that seems extremely promising… And I can’t forget my girl, Aina! I’ve been loving her since the 9th gen auditions!

Take a look below for the reveal of the girls’ band name and member colors. (The more I look at Karin, the more she reminds me of an alien…)

Finally, the somewhat-HQ covers! I’m actually not all that disappointed. Regular Edition could use some jazzing up but it’s not too bad. Limited A is really pretty although I wish the girls didn’t look so bright. Limited B is fairly good. I’m really only looking at Risako in that picture–holy smokes, she looks damn fine. Limited C is sultry but fun at the same time with the colors and boxes. Limited D is ultimately the worst. Although I love the blue more than the red on the official costumes, the cover is painfully cheap. Despite the setbacks of the single, it really can’t bring down my love for this song. Look out for some Asian Celebration next week on March 13th, 2013!

S/mileage’s upcoming single, Tabidachi no Haru ga Kita is set to release on March 20th, 2013. The PV really isn’t anything special, but it’s quite cute–very fresh and clean and pretty. However, I really dislike those secondary costumes. The blue is too harsh and those skirts are NOT nice in motion. They all should have gotten shorts like the adorable Akari-chan. The covers and tracklisting are below!

These covers are so gorgeous! Everything about this single is awesome… except the song.

Oh snap! It’s true! C-ute’s got a new single releasing entitled Crazy Kanzen na Otona. Which is ironic since 80% of C-ute’s members are under the age of 20. This song could go one of two ways: boring ballad equivalent to Onna, Kanashi, Otona or a disgustingly annoying hyper song similar to Sekaiichi HAPPY or Momoiro Sparkling.

A new dance-shot of an unannounced song was uploaded the other day on Morning Musume’s channel. A lot of fans are speculated that it is the upcoming single releasing on April 17th. However, Hello! Project’s official website has not released the name of the new single so no one can be sure.

The song itself reminds me a lot of a mixture of Wakuteka and Help me!!. The costumes are a little to similar to Berryz’ Seishun Bus Guide. The dance is pretty good but there’s a bit too much walking and dead legs. However, I love the dance move during the chorus, even if it is the most simple part of the dance. Not a song I’d have on repeat, though.

Let’s end this post on an awesome note…

Chii & Miya-hime!

Stolen from Chinami’s twitter, these two got some major hair changes! Miyabi’s a blondie now–first time ever! Looks kinda cute on her :D Plus, Chinami chopped off all her hair! It’s not visible here, but she has an awesome Pixie cut. It suits her so well! Ah, Chii’s a boy now! :D

*squees over my girls*

  1. Juice=Juice have their first single announced so I’m anticipating that :) I think S/mileage’s new song is cute but not my taste this time. The outfits are adorable as they usually are!

I can’t wait for C-ute’s new single. Speaking of new single, Brainstorming is soon hitting 800,000 views in a few days. I’ve already done a dance cover of the song. The song really grows on you!

I wish Chinami didn’t chop her hair but then again she still looks cute, has Miyabi’s hair grown or is she still using weave at times?
